From foot to mouth

The sentence “Ego, the I demands a spiritual nourishment through the economy” is an excerpt from the conference “Talks about my own country: Germany” by Joseph Beuys. I eat the sentence while balancing on dish plates that are piled up to an increasing height. The sentence is in sugar. Its graphic structure follows that of an economic growth curve. On the floor, the piles of plates compensate for the inclination and allow me to maintain the same distance from foot to mouth. The more I fill myself with sugar, the more my position becomes precarious and unstable.
